After being tempted by clubs from Argentina, Mexico, and Italy, it seems that 'El Matador' has finally decided where he will be playing next.

One of the most interesting free agents in the world of football is finally about to sign a new deal. Edinson Cavani's future is set to be sorted out in spectacular fashion, as the Uruguay International is set to play for a La Liga team for the first time in his career.

Reports coming in from Spain suggest that Cavani will turn down an offer to play for Turkish giants Fenerbahce in order to play in La Liga. Cavani had been linked to teams such as Boca Juniors, Toluca, América, and even Napoli, but the player seems ready to put pen to paper to a deal with none other than Villarreal, where he will get the chance to work once again with Unai Emery, who coached Cavani during his stay at PSG.

In order for Villarreal to make the deal official, they need to let some of their players leave the club. The man that is set to make way for Cavani's signing with the Yellow Submarine is Paco Alcácer, who is set to join Celta in the next few days. With the former Barcelona striker out of the picture, Cavani will be able to commit his future to the Spanish club.

With this move, Cavani's desire to remain playing for a club in Europe will be materialized. Furthermore, the player will be able to keep his goalscoring skills intact with a club that is set to become a contender in the 2022-23 UEFA Europa Conference League and in domestic competitions set to be played in Spain.
