Brace yourself for the launch of FOX Sports 1 on Saturday, August 17, 2013. The debut of this national sports network coincides with the much-anticipated EPL kick-off.

FOX Sports 1 launches on Saturday, August 17, 2013 as the 2013/14 English Premier League season kicks off.The news broke earlier in March with FOX Sports Media Group Co-President and COO Eric Shanks declaring:

“Our ‘secret,’ admittedly a very poorly kept one, is now revealed.”

History is in the making on August 17th as this represents the biggest sports cable launch. FOX Networks’ Mike Hopkins declared the following on Friday:

“We are thrilled that virtually all pay-television customers across America will have access to FOX Sports 1. 

“This network launch is a major milestone for Fox and will alter the sports television landscape.  We are grateful to our distribution partners for making this all possible.”

 

In mid-July, it was announced that fervent football fans will be fed with an original show called FOX Soccer Daily. This 30-minute program is set to start on Monday, August 19 after the first weekend of the 2013/14 English Premier League campaign.

According to Executive Producer Jonty Whitehead, FOX Soccer Daily “will provide crucial insight, analysis and coverage of the beautiful game that all fans of the sport crave.”

The grid will be updated in timely fashion as the network has promised to telecast midweek matches from the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and other top international tournaments.
