The two sides which will meet in the FA Cup Final will meet each other in the Premier League in a match which perhaps matters more to Wigan than to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Team News

Jack Rodwell is out for Manchester City. David Silva, Maicon and Micah Richards are all doubtful for this one. Ryo Miyaichi, Ivan Ramis, Albert Crusat and Michael Pollitt are out for Wigan. Ben Watson is doubtful.

Analysis

Wigan is seemingly staging a late fight back for survival in the Premier League. Roberto Martinez’s side has played two games less than all of their rivals who are battling for survival. Wigan’s recent form has been quite good. They have played well in the league recently while sparkling alongside in the FA Cup. They reached a historic first final in their history by beating Millwall 2-0. Their opponent in that final is Manchester City.

City has also staged a later revival to save their season. While 15 points might be too big a bridge to cross for City, they can still win another trophy this season in the FA Cup. Wins over Chelsea and United have demonstrated the strength of this team. Wigan is a tricky side to play. City will have to be at their best to beat this team.
