Barcelona are set to welcome back first team manager Tito Vilanova, after a lengthy absence the Catalan coach is expected to make his return in the near future and Barcelona has marked the good news with some fine performances recently.
The Catalans made a dream beginning to the 2012/2013 campaign which marked their best ever start in La Liga, the Spanish giants captured 28 out of a possible 30 points in the first ten games. Barcelona continue to play the beautiful football they are famous for, but under Tito they have displayed persistence and desire which has helped them to be more ruthless.

However the Spanish technician was unfortunate to be diagnosed with cancer for the second time, and has been absent for the Catalans since December last year. Since his departure Barcelona have experienced an unforeseen decline, and stand in coach Jordi Roura has failed to produce similar results.

Barcelona went through a stressful week, when their loss against Milan in the Champions League was followed by consecutive defeats to fierce rivals Real Madrid. However the Catalans have responded well since then and have recorded some important wins including a defiant display against AC Milan in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, which earned them a qualification to the Quarter finals of the competition.

Barcelona number two Jordi Roura himself has expressed his desire to see Tito back at the club, to take charge of his seat.

"I said I hope this is my last game because that will mean that Tito is back," the 45-year-old told reporters.

"I don't want to evaluate this bracket of time [during which Vilanova has been absent]. The team we have created is a joint effort - I won't take any plaudits for what's happened while I've been in charge. “

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has further confirmed that coach Tito Vilanova, will be returning back to Spain after getting himself treated in New York. However the former Blaugrana goalkeeper has claimed that Tito might not yet be ready to take his place on the sidelines.

Speaking to Canal+ Barcelona’s sporting director said:

"Tito is about to return, and this is very good news,"

"It seems that he has finished the things that he had to do in New York. He will decide when he is ready."

Even though Barcelona have been knocked out of the Copa Del Rey they have everything to play for this season. The Spanish giants still boast an incredible thirteen point lead over second placed Real Madrid, and are on the course of securing their 22nd league title.

Following a first leg hiccup against Milan, the Catalans are back in contention for the European crown and are strong favourites to win it. The return of Tito will surely further boost their morale and help them achieve their objectives this season.
