It is not only strikers who can score goals. On Wednesday night, AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes did what many forwards may not be able to do after 100 attempts.

Philippe Mexes captured while scoring his amazing overhead kick goal for Milan against AnderlechtWith Zenit grabbing a point from their 12:00pm EST fixture at home to Malaga, Milan needed to win to secure tickets into the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The Rossoneri responded well to their mission. El Shaarawy maintained his scoring form by breaking the deadlock two minutes into the second period.

However, it was Philippe Mexes’ strike which seduced the public. The number 5 centre-back scored a daring overhead kick goal to put Milan 2-0 against Belgium giants Anderlecht in the 71st minute.

Alexandre Pato rounded up Milan’s victory with an easy tap in moments before the final whistle, leaving Mexes’ strike to be the talk of the night.

Is this amazing goal better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s overhead kick for Sweden against England? You decide!
