La Vecchia Signora will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of Serie A when they take on Catania in what promises to be a hotly-contested affair.

The Italian champions have been in sensational form this season, and if they continue to play in the same manner against Catania there's no doubt that they will return home with a precious victory.

However, unlike last season, the fact that Juventus are competing in the UEFA Champions League could perhaps make them a touch more vulnerable, especially when on tricky road trips.

La Vecchia Signora could only manage a disappointing 1-1 draw with lowly Nordsjælland in Europe midweek, a result which upset a number of players from the squad, including experienced goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Catania, who were beaten 2-0 by Inter Milan at the San Siro in their latest Serie A fixture, are more than aware that Sunday's rivals contain far more quality and depth than them, but will still rate their chances of causing a major upset.

Rolando Maran, the coach of the Sicilians, has decided to maintain a close-to-identical side as to the one that lost against Inter, where he will still be unable to count with the services of four players, these being Fabio Sciacca, Keko, Blazej Augustyn and Giuseppe Bellusci.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has few selection problems to deal with, but is likely to replace Arturo Vidal with Paul Pogba in the midfield. Mirko Vucinic, who scored Juve's equaliser against Nordsjælland, is favoured to get the nod at front ahead of Fabio Quagliarella.

The Serie A league leaders will turn out with a compact side, but if they don't want their incredible unbeaten record to come to an abrupt end they will have to keep a close eye on Catania's Argentine attacking trio, which comprises of Alejandro Gomez, Pablo Barrientos and former Saint-Etienne striker Gonzalo Bergessio.

The last time the sides met was in February of this year, when Juventus came from behind to record a 3-1 victory at the Juventus Arena.
