Life as Barcelona’s head coach begins today for Tito Vilanova and Victor Valdes insists Vilanova’s appointment does not mean the end of the club’s successful era.
Victor Valdes believes that the former assistant coach will continue in the footsteps of Pep Guardiola. Talking to Efe, Valdes assured Barcelona fans about the players’ promise to synchronize with Tito Vilanova.

“There is a very good chance, I think, with the commitment to Vilanova as our coach, and we will do our utmost so that Barcelona remain at a high level,” he said.

“Each [coach] has his way of working, his own style, although it is true that I do not expect many changes to the things we have been doing in the last few seasons.”

Barcelona found consolation by winning the Copa del Rey after tragically failing in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. Reiterating his desire to win it all like in 2009, Victor Valdes concluded.

“All I want is that Barcelona are champions by the end and that is what we work for every day.”

Andres Iniesta echoed Valdes' opinion concerning his trust in Tito Vilanova. Speaking to Gol Television, the Euro 2012 Player of the Tournament winner declared:

“With Guardiola, we reached the peak, we will miss him,But we will follow practically the same line with Tito. Considering this, the change will not be dramatic.”

Tito Vilanova’s first test is a club friendly against Hamburg on Wednesday. The new Barcelona head coach will be hoping to clinch a positive result even without his Spanish internationals.
