Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva have left AC Milan for French club Paris Saint-Germain but Alexandre Pato will not follow them out, according to agent Gilmar Veloz.
Well before Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva had been associated with PSG on the transfer market, speculations linked Alexandre Pato to the French club. With Ibra and Thiago Silva having now switched from AC Milan to PSG for financial reasons, questions over Pato’s future at the San Siro have inevitably risen. Responding to those, the player’s agent Gilmar Velz told Italian media Tuttomercatoweb.com:

“He [Alexandre Pato] could have joined PSG in January, but that didn't happen in the end and it is something of the past now. He will remain at Milan and is happy to stay at the club.

“Alexandre has a contract until June 2014 and is still a Milan player. He still has two more years left on his deal, so there's no reason to talk about an extension just yet.”

This week, Andrea Galliani told the press that AC Milan would sign a “champion” in attack to fill the void caused by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure. However, Alexandre Pato could prove himself to be the Rossoneri’s perfect redeemer with more space for himself upfront.

This will however require the Brazilian striker to step up his game. Last season, Pato once again succumbed to injuries. He featured in only 17 matches and scored no more than 4 goals. However, agent Gilmar Veloz remains confident in the abilities of Alexandre Pato.

“He's very calm. He's focusing on the Olympics now and will then return to Milan where he will become a key player again,” the agent concluded.
