Cristiano Ronaldo is still buzzing from Real Madrid's historic La Liga triumph over Barcelona in 2012.
2012 UEFA Best Player in Europe nominee Cristiano Ronaldo is currently in Thailand for extended holidays following his involvement at Euro 2012 in June. The Portugal captain, who scored three goals and led his team to the semi-finals, is set to join Real Madrid later on for their pre-season tour in the United States.

On Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo was quizzed by Thai reporters on the most important achievement since his big money transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid. The 27-year-old forward answered:

“I think the best moment so far was winning La Liga. Because I think the Spanish league is the hardest in the world. It has great teams like Barcelona and to finish nine points ahead of them... that says a lot.”

On April 21, Cristiano Ronaldo outshined Lionel Messi and scored the match winner in Real Madrid’s decisive 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Camp Nou. This famous win virtually ended the Catalans’ hopes of retaining their Spanish league title.

Real Madrid finished the 2011/12 Spanish La Liga season with a record-breaking 100 points and 121 goals (46 of which were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo). Real Madrid will be looking to reaffirm their authority against bitter rivals Barcelona in the 2012 Supercopa de Espana late in August.

Before that, Los Blancos will play four matches at the 2012 World Football Challenge. They will open their mini-tournament campaign with a match against David Beckham’s Los Angeles Galaxy on August 2 before facing Mexico’s Santos Laguna three days later.

AC Milan, who have recently parted company with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva in mega transfer deals with PSG, will face Real Madrid in New York come August 8. Los Blancos’ last fixture at the 2012 World Football Challenge will be a clash against Scottish giants Celtic on August 11.
