Real Madrid have yet to break the curse that keeps them without victory away to Bayern Munich. The Spanish giants lost 2-1 at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.
A bad start to the first half for Real Madrid saw Franck Ribery put the hosts in front after 17 minutes.

The Germans proved too strong in the air and on the counter attack. Somehow, the Spanish giants went back into the game.

The goal came inside the 53rd minute through Mesut Ozil in a rather lucky manner. The former Bundesliga player was at standing at the right place to tap the ball in after Cristiano Ronaldo provided a pass from the end line.

Ronaldo himself had decent chances to score but as time went down the clock, frustration took its toll.

At the other end, striker Mario Gomez claimed victory in the individual duel against the Portuguese winger.

The Bayern Munich player slided the ball past Iker Casillas and finished off Philipp Lahm’s brilliant move down the right hand side.

With this goal, Mario Gomez took his tally to 12 goals on the night. Bayern Munich only need a draw at the Santiago Bernbeu to qualify for the UEFA Champions League final on May 19.

Will Jose Mourinho turn the tables around in a week's time?
