With Roma up next, the coached stressed the importance for his side not to be distracted by their close-approaching Champions League blockbuster.
Massimiliano Allegri, the coach of AC Milan, affirmed that his team shouldn't think about next week's Champions League quarter-final with Barcelona, but concentrate on Saturday's league clash with Roma.

The Italian champions will be hoping to edge closer towards back-to-back Scudettos when they welcome Roma to the San Siro stadium, in what is expected to be a hotly-contested encounter.

"We will play against Barca, but right now we have to think about Roma, who are a very tough team to beat," Allegri declared to reporters during a press conference.

"After Saturday's game, we will have nine matches remaining, and keeping our four-point lead at the top will be important. That is why we have to think only about Roma and not Barca, just like it happened against Juventus in the Coppa Italia."

Allegri will be unable to count with a number of players for the clash with Roma, including Brazilian internationals Robinho, Alexandre Pato and Thiago Silva as well as Kevin-Prince Boateng. But he dismissed reports that club owner Silvio Berlusconi had blamed his training methods for a season which has been plagued by injury problems.

"I spoke to him after the match against Parma, he only asked about those who were injured and if the players were tired. He tends to protect the players, he wants them to rest. But muscular problems are fewer than it may seem."

Finally, Allegri outlined the main strengths of Saturday's opponents Roma: "Roma hold possession very well, and they have improved when they are not in possession."

When Milan travelled to the Stadio Olimpico to take on Roma in late October, they returned home with a 3-2 victory, thanks to two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and another from Alessandro Nesta.
