The first derby meeting between Inter Miami and Orlando City of the 2024 MLS season will get underway on Saturday, March 2nd.

The first Floridian derby of the 2024 MLS season will get underway this weekend as Inter Miami welcome Orlando City on Saturday. The Herons come into this game having battled to a one-all draw against LA Galaxy last round, with Lionel Messi's late goal enough to secure a point for Gerardo "Tata" Martino's side. Inter Miami, who failed to qualify for the playoffs last campaign despite a late season surge, will naturally be aiming to improve on their standing this time around and so far have picked up four points from their first two games.

The Herons looked mostly in control in their season opener as they earned a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake, and will be looking to making it three wins from their last four meetings against Orlando City. Meanwhile, the Lions were unable to make much headway as they were held to a frustrating scoreless stalemate against CF Montreal in their season opener, but Oscar Pareja's squad have received some great news coming into this contest.

Luis Muriel, well known to Serie A fans from his time with Atalanta, will be able to be involved in Saturday's game. The Colombian international took part in Orlando City's recent CONCACAF Champions Cup clash against Canadian side Cavalry, during which the Lions earned a very comfortable 3-1 win to set up a round of 16 tie against Mexican outfit Tigres in the next stage.

Naturally, Orlando City will aim to use that recent win to build upon as they aim to win their first win in MLS. Although they have failed to win two of their last three most recent meetings against Inter Miami, the Lions have a pretty solid record in their travels, with just one loss in their last eight MLS matches.
