The serial Europa League winners have partnered with American tech giants IBM as they seek to find new ways to recruit players to the club.

Sevilla might be struggling horribly in La Liga this season - with four consecutive losses from their past five games seeing them sitting just above the drop zone - but it is not all doom and gloom for them, either.

Los Hispalenses, who have dominated the Europa League since the turn of the 21st century, with their seven titles more than any other club in history, now appear to be taking advantage of the AI revolution that is disrupting industries across a wide range of sectors. The club have now entered into an exciting partnership with IBM to create a new product that aims to help improve the player recruitment process and synthesize key data in a streamlined and more efficient way.

According to reports, this new tool is called Scout Advisor and is heavily modeled off IBM's Watsonx, the tech giant's commercial generative AI and data platform that was launched in May 2023. In the case of Scout Advisor, it basically combs through massive amounts of data (specifically scouting reports) using natural language processing and analysis to pick up key player attributes that the club is seeking. Simply put, a member of the club working on identifying potential talent can input a few words and will receive tailored results without having to manually go through dozens and dozens of scouting reports.

In short, whereas before members of the club's recruitment team had to sift through multiple scouting reports - a feat that not only takes up a great amount of time but also did not guarantee finding exactly what they were looking for - now, thanks to AI, all someone has to do is put in something along the lines of "speedy left-footed winger" and literally in a flash, will receive player profiles that will closely align with that request.

All in all, it is safe to say that Sevilla will not be the only club playing in Europe's "Big Five" leagues to seek to use new tech advancements to better streamline their recruitment and other processes at the club.
