Twelve teams from the Caribbean lock horns with their hopes set on reaching the top competition in North America. Here is how the first games will be played between today and tomorrow.

The new format for the CONCACAF Gold Cup will give teams from the Caribbean a bigger chance to join the tournament hosted in the United States, and this year's games promise to keep fans close to their devices to follow all the action taking place.

The first round of the preliminaries is set to take place between June 16 and June 17, with six matches being played to determine six winners. Those who make it past these games will go on to play for three places in the proper competition against powerhouse teams like the United States or Canada, and also facing former giants of this region, such as Mexico and Costa Rica. The games to know the three teams that enter the competition will be held on June 20.

The twelve teams involved in this process will feature the third-placed teams in League A of the CONCACAF Nations League, the runners-up of League B, and the winners in Group C. Here are the teams as they qualified.

League A third-placed teams: Suriname, Martinique, Curaçao, Grenada.

League B runners-up: Guadeloupe, Guyana, French Guiana, Antigua and Barbuda (ended as third but was promoted after Trinidad and Tobago was given a spot in the tournament).

League C winners: Sint Maarten, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico.
