The veteran tactician has admitted he is still keen on keeping his job with A Selecao, but fans seem to have different plans for him.

Portugal's coach Fernando Santos may be having some doubts about his future as A Seleçao's boss, but fans have already decided they have seen enough of his tactics with the National team.

The former Greece boss admitted that he would consider his future as the team's tactician, but he also hinted that he was not considering an exit at the moment. Well, the coach's words were heard loud and clear by the team's supporters, and their verdict has been revealed in a poll conducted by Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The publication issued a poll for fans to vote about the future of Santos as coach. The results revealed a devastating 93.5% of fans wanting to part ways with the coach who led them to their first big tournament when they won the 2016 UEFA Euro.

The coach has been blasted for his overly defensive tactics and for relying on individual inspiration to solve the team's games, leaving everything to be decided by fate of by Cristiano Ronaldo's skills back when he gave a starting nod to the footballer.

Former A Selecao players such as Alvaro Magalhaes, Vitor Paneira or Rodolfo Reis have all agreed that it is time to end Santos' cycle as coach, mainly because they feel his speech is no longer touching the players as it should, and a fresh set of tactics would suit the team better.

Added to that, former players and legends admit that the Cristiano Ronaldo saga could complicate things even further if Santos decides to stay, as CR7 has reportedly told those close to him he still wants to play for A Selecao in the 2024 UEFA Euro.

It is yet to be revealed if Santos will give in to the pressure, but after crashing out of the tournament without scoring a goal against a seemingly weaker side, it seems that Santos' hours may be numbered with the Portuguese squad.
