The Brazilian ace will remain at the French capital for the next four seasons, but that was not the main reason for such a choice.

Neymar's decision to keep playing for PSG was not entirely about money, although earning quite a bit of cash had something to do with this call.

According to a report by Spanish newspaper Sport, the Brazilian ace was seduced by the possibility of winning the UEFA Champions League title with PSG, something they came close to accomplish in 2020. That, and the fact that Les Parisiens were about to reach a second UCL final in a row this season, were two of the reasons why Neymar chose not to seek for pastures new.

One more reason for Neymar to stay put at PSG had to do with the "super team" PSG is ready to build in order to win the UEFA Champions League on a short-term basis. According to the same report, the team's hierarchy is ready to splash the cash to bring Lionel Messi to the team, and if that was not enough, the idea of hiring the out-of-contract Sergio Ramos on a free transfer may have also twisted Neymar's arm.

On top of that, the contract extensions for key players such as Keylor Navas and Angel Di Maria have been seen by Neymar's inner circle as a clear sign of where and how the team will handle their business when it comes to reinforcements.

Last, but not least, the player has seemingly made up his mind by also adding a clause in his deal that could see him put an end to his Euripean playing career when his contract with PSG comes to an end. The newspaper suggests that Neymar will want to put an end to his playing career with Santos, the team where everything started for him. Moreover, retiring in his home country would be an ideal way to honor some of his idols.
