Robinho is happy to have Brazil’s young players leaning on him for some advice…
Robinho is one of the Seleçao’s players who have been wearing Brazil’s jersey for 8 years or more. At 27, Robinho holds remarkable achievements.

The former Santos and Real Madrid player has won the FIFA Confederations Cup twice—in 2005 and in 2009. He also inspired Brazil throughout the 2007 Copa America without the help of Kaka who asked to rest after a long season with AC Milan.

During the 2007 Copa America, Robinho scored 6 times—thus ending as the competition’s top scorer above Argentina’s Juan Roman Riquelme and Mexico’s Nervy Castillo. He was also voted as the best player and he is now aiming to share his experience with today’s youngsters such as Neymar and Ganso.

“I hope to have good games, to score the goals needed, and to do well at the Copa America.

“Ronaldo always gave me advices on and off the field. All that good advice given to me, I am passing it onto the younger ones—Neymar, Lucas (from Sao Paulo) and Ganso.”

Robinho carries Brazil’s number 7 jersey whereas Pato has recently been given Ronaldo’s number 9 jersey. Both players are key components of Mano Menezes’ promised 4-2-1-3 formation along side Neymar and Lucas.
