Copa America defending champions Brazil have finally landed in Argentina to play in the 2011 Copa America.
It took them a five-hour trip to move from their hotel in Rio de Janeiro to Los Cardales in Argentina. Their current location is only two hours from Buenos Aires. But the Seleçao arrived in their rivals’ country on Tuesday night without Santos’ trio.

Neymar, Elano and Ganso actually need to feature for their team as the second-leg of the Copa Libertadores’ final is set to take place on Wednesday night. Santos held Peñarol to a goalless draw in the first-leg and whatever happens in the second leg, fans of the Brazilian national team as well as Coach Mano Menezes will be hoping to have Neymar, Elano and Ganso fit for the 2011 Copa America.

Those players are expected to join the Brazilian team on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Seleçao’s first match of the tournament will take place on July 3 as they will entertain Venezuela in La Plata.

In other news, Ecuador have lost star winger Luis Saritama through injury. Despite finding replacement in Giovanni Nazareno, coach Reinaldo Rueda expressed his disappointment at the news, telling CA2011.com:

“It’s really sad and it’s such a shame to lose a player. It’s hard for the team and hard for him [Saritama]. He is a great professional who had worked hard to be ready [for the 2011 Copa America].”

Brazil will lock horns with Ecuador on the last match-day of the group stages on June 13.
