The Portuguese top-flight reaches the end of the tumultuous 2019-20 season with two matches featuring bitter rivals at the top pf the table.

Two games stand out in the final matchday of the Portuguese Primeira Liga this weekend, and fans will surely have quite a few topics of discussion after the games are over.

The recently crowned champions will make the trip to Braga to end their season on a high note. The Dragons have won six in a row, and keeping that streak unscathed will surely be the team's main goal. On the other hand, Braga needs to end that streak to keep the pressure on Sporting and secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

The other game featuring two of the top four teams in the tournament will have Benfica playing against bitter rivals Sporting. The Eagles dropped the chance of becoming league champions due to a poor streak right after the tournament resumed, and now they will only want to save face with a win against the Lions, who could afford not to win the game and still earn access to the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Let's have a closer look at each one of these matches.

Braga vs Porto - One last hurrah for the champions?

Sergio Conceicao's men have already been given the crown, they have already celebrated their title, and now, they have to take their party hats off to play against Braga. The red and white side needs a win and wait for Sporting not to claim one point to make it to the UEFA Europa League group stage. Braga wants to avoid the preliminary stages of the continental competition, but it will not be an easy task when they host the champions.

Benfica vs Sporting - A draw in the works between two of the "Big Three"?

The 2019-20 Primeira Liga runners-up have nothing to play for this weekend other than their pride. The Eagles are already through to the UEFA Champions League's preliminary stages, but Sporting does have an interest in winning this match: avoiding the preliminary stages of the UEFA Europa League. A draw would be enough for the green and white side, and judging by their recent games at the Estadio Da Luz, snatching a point away from Benfica does not seem as far-fetched as you might imagine.
