The game between Die Roten and Hoffenheim was brought to a halt when Bavarian fans displayed banners insulting Hoffenheim's owner.

Quite a shameful incident took place at Hoffenheim's stadium, when Bayern fans decided to aim a scathing dig at Hoffenheim's benefactor, Dietmar Hopp.

The game between Bayern and Hoffenheim had turned into a walk in the park for Die Roten, who were 6-0 ahead with more than 20 minutes left on the clock. Radical Bayern fans displayed a banner that called the 79-year-old tycoon a "son of a b**ch", which forced the referee to stop the game until the banner was removed.

Bayern boss Hansi Flick, along with David Alaba and former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn got into an argument with the radical fans to see them taking the banner down. At first, the fans refused to take it down, but they eventually conceded after a ten-minute pause in the game, which even saw players from both teams leaving the pitch until the situation was sorted out.

"1. Bayern fans displayed a banner insulting Hoffenheim's owner. The game was suspended and the squad faced their own supporters. 2. After the first suspension, the fans displayed another banner, which forced the ref to suspend the game."

Once the game resumed, Bayern and Hoffenheim's players decided to exercise their own protest. Players from both teams reached an agreement to pass the ball around to educate their supporters. The "protest" by the playeers was well met by the rest of the fans in the stadium, who cheered for both sides even if they had to witness 13 minutes of passes.

"History in the making: Hoffenheim and Bayern decide to play the remaining 15 minutes..but passing the ball between them in protest for what happened".
