Andrea Pirlo has heated up the upcoming Milan derby by stating that the clash between the two Italian giants could actually decide the Scudetto this season.
AC Milan will take on Inter Milan this Saturday in a very crucial clash that could even see Inter take top spot if AC Milan lose. The Rossoneri are just two points ahead of their city rivals and they will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a setback against Palermo three weeks ago.

Nonetheless, Andrea Pirlo believes that his teammates have the ingredients needed to take the game to Inter Milan in a clash he described as a very 'decisive' one in terms of determining the Scudetto.

"The derby is always a special game, and it could decide the title this year. Therefore, there are great palpitations ahead of it," he told UEFA.com.

"But, I think for us it is not too decisive because there are still many games to be played. We are ok, top of the league, but we know we have tough games. We are preparing well for the game."

Milan were triumphant in the last encounter between these two sides in November, thanks to a penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, the Swedish star will not feature this time around after being suspended due to violent conduct.
