Rossoneri star Robinho is relishing the prospect of scoring against Brazilian compatriot Julio Cesar when AC Milan and Internazionale will face each other on Saturday.
Robinho has only starting to make an impact at the San Siro since he was signed from Manchester City for €18M in August 2010. The 27-year-old winger struggled to win a regular place in AC Milan’s starting XI during the first few months but he has now made 28 appearances in all competitions for his new club. His 10 goals in Italy’s Serie A have also helped Milan’s Scudetto aspirations.

In the absence of the suspended Ibrahimovic, Robinho is expected to carry the Rossoneri’s attack forward with the help of team mates Alexandre Pato and Antonio Cassano. The player is keen to leave his mark on Saturday’s derby match and he is excited at a particular opportunity that it presents, as he told the press in an interview:

“It will be nice to play against Julio Cesar because I want to score against him. It will be my first time.

“Either way, whatever happens, it will be a great game. We hope to win it.

“As for me, I’ll do all I can to put Inter in difficulty because what we want is to win the Scudetto. We have been training hard and it depends on us.”

AC Milan indeed top the standings in the Italian Serie A with 62 points from 30 matches. Internazionale, meanwhile, follow behind with 60 points. Milan stand a great chance of having one hand on the Scudetto but they are also in danger of losing the top spot to city rivals Inter.
