The club's director has finally reacted to the rumor mill.

Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta has revealed that his side is yet to make contact with Tottenham Hotspur over the potential signing of Christian Eriksen and insists that both Ashley Young and Olivier Giroud are not close to joining. The Nerrazzurri chief's comment comes to quash intense rumors which suggest that the trio's arrival in the Serie A is imminent.

Ahead of the Guissepe Meaza outfit's clash with Atalanta on Saturday, Marotta debunked Sky Italia's recent claim that a move for Eriksen is close, stating that 'no contact' has yet been made with the player's club nor his representatives.

"At this moment, there are a lot of rumors going around and stories that are certainly not true," Marotta told DAZN.

"The January transfer window tends to be a quiet one, made up only of rare opportunities. We intend to improve the squad with quality additions.

"Eriksen is an interesting prospect, he will be out of contract in June, but we have not started any negotiations with his club or his agent."

Regarding the transfers of Ashley Young and Olivier Giroud, he added: "We won't do anything imminently. We have to evaluate every single situation, because there are objective difficulties to be considered. At this moment, Inter are top of the Serie A table and the squad is to be respected.

"There is no anxiety to get a deal done tomorrow or on Monday, but rather to wait for the right opportunity that the market presents."
