Veteran striker Jankauskas has delivered a message of belief to his teammates by stating that the pitch condition might be detrimental to Spain's chances of winning.
Lithuania will host Spain at the S. Darius and S. Girenas stadium- where the pitch condition has particularly impressed the Spanish contingent. Nonetheless, Jankauskas said that if there is a minimal chance of a Lithuanian upset on that day, it will certainly come from the poor pitch condition.

"Of course our chances in the match against Spain are not very large, but I hope the state of the field will benefit us," the Voronezh striker told Marca.

"The Spaniards will find a lot of holes and bald patches on the surface which will complicate their task.

"There are teams that like to build their play and there are others that like to disrupt their opposition. We are stronger in the second element."

Lithuania will definitely have a mountain to climb against the Spaniards but their 2-0 victory over Poland last week could actually serve as the perfect tonic needed to a big night against the World Champions.
