Simply sensational!

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has earned himself a piece of Champions League record with his sensational goalscoring feat against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday. The 32-year-old Polish striker scored four times in 14 minutes and 31 seconds to become the player to score the competition's fastest-ever quadruple.

Having had a goal canceled by the VAR in the first-half, Lewandowski set the pace for his onslaught of goals to follow by scoring Bayern's second from a spot-kick. Earlier, Leon Goretzka had given the Bavarians the lead under 14 minutes. Seven minutes after his first, Lewandowski was called into action once more for his second.

The former Borussia Dortmund star added a third four minutes later and capped off the night with his fourth three minutes after scoring the hat-trick. He resultantly entered the history books as the first player after Lionel Messi to score four times in a more than one occasion. His first was against Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Champions League.

With a current haul of 51 goals, Lewandowski became the first player to score half-a-century of goals in 2019 for both club and country. His tally in the Champions League stands at 10 in just five appearances.
