Portsmouth will be looking for their seventh straight win, and also their seventh consecutive clean sheet when they travel to face Bristol City on Tuesday.
League leaders Queens Park Rangers will be looking to extend their eight point lead when they travel to face Millwall, while second placed Swansea City will play host to Watford.

Norwich City will continue their promotion push when they travel to face playoff chasing Leicester City, while sixth placed Leeds United will travel to face rock bottom Preston North End.

In games that will see a relegation struggler play host to a promotion hopeful, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City will travel to face Sheffield United and Crystal Palace respectively.

Scunthorpe United will be looking to escape the bottom three with a win at Barnsley, while Middlesbrough and Derby County will face off in a battle of two teams hovering just above the relegation zone.
 

Doncaster Rovers will play host to Coventry City on Tuesday with both clubs looking for a result to avoid being dragged into the relegation mire. Coventry are six points above the relegation zone after going winless in their last three matches. Doncaster are two points further ahead and will be looking to bounce back from the weekend’s 5-2 defeat at Leeds United.





Doncaster could hand a debut to on-loan Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Ben Alnwick, while Shelton Martis could return to the Rovers defense.





Striker Marlon King is suspended for Coventry, while Martin Cranie returns from a ban. Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood remains sidelined with a hamstring problem.



Fellow playoff contenders Hull City and Burnley will clash on Tuesday at the KC Stadium with both teams in good form. Hull are five points behind the playoff spots after losing only one of their last 10 games. Burnley are one point ahead of the Tigers and are undefeated in their last five league games.





Goalkeeper Vito Mannone is an injury doubt for Hull and will be assessed ahead of kickoff. Matty Fryatt will lead the attack for Hull and has scored seven goals in his last five games.





Striker Charlie Austin is out injured for Burnley, while Steven Thomson and Martin Paterson are also injured for the Clarets. Jay Rodriguez will continue in attack after scoring in his last three league games, including the winning goal at Nottingham Forest over the weekend.



Scunthorpe United will be looking to end a run of six straight away defeats when they travel to face Barnsley on Tuesday. Barnsley will also be looking to improve their form having failed to win any of their last six games.





Scunthorpe currently occupy the relegation zone and are one point adrift of safety, while Barnsley are nine points above the drop zone.





Jay McEveley, Nathan Doyle and Jacob Mellis are all injury doubts for Barnsley and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.





Scunthorpe have doubts over the fitness of Joe Murphy, Chris Dagnall and Cliff Byrne, while Paul Reid is ruled out with a hip injury.



Playoff contenders Reading will be looking to extend a six game unbeaten streak when they travel to face Ipswich Town on Tuesday. Reading are six points behind the playoff spots, while Ipswich are a further six points back.





Colin Healy and Mark Kennedy are sidelined with injury for Ipswich, while Celtic loanee Darren O’Dea could return in defense for the Tractor Boys.





Jobi McAnuff is an injury doubt for Reading, while Hal-Robson-Kanu will play for the Royals after scoring the weekend’s 5-2 win over Middlesbrough.



Bristol City and Portsmouth will clash at Ashton Gate on Tuesday with both teams expecting to continue runs of good form. Bristol will be looking for their fourth straight win, while Portsmouth have won their last six games without conceding a goal.





Portsmouth are currently seven points behind the playoff spots, while Bristol are a further six points behind.





Defender Steven Caulker is an injury doubt for Bristol, while Nicky Maynard will continue in attack after scoring in the last three games for the Robins.





Jamie Ashdown will continue in goal for Pompey and with a clean sheet will break a club record for consecutive clean sheets that has been held by Peter Mellor since 1978.

Patrick van Aanholt and Steve Howard are ruled out with injury for Leicester with thigh and ankle injuries respectively.





Defender Zak Whitbread is doubtful for Norwich, while Blackpool loanee Rob Edwards will make his first start in the Canaries defense.



Leeds united will continue their playoff push when they travel to face rock bottom Preston North End on Tuesday. Last placed Preston are winless on their last 14 games, but have drawn against three of the league’s top five teams. Sixth placed Leeds will be looking to follow up on the weekend’s 5-2 win over Doncaster Rovers.





Andy Lonergan, Craig Morgan and David Gray are questionable with injury for Preston. Nathan Ellington, Leon Cort and Barry Nicholson are also doubtful and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.





Leeds defender Paul Connolly is ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Lloyd Sam is doubtful due to illness.



Promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest will travel to face relegation strugglers Sheffield united at Bramall Lane on Tuesday.





United currently occupy the relegation zone and are six points adrift of safety after a 15 game winless run. Forest are three points behind second placed Swansea City, and will be looking to bounce back quickly from the weekend’s home defeat to Hull City.





Defender Shane Lowry will return from suspension for United, while Sam Vokes, Joe Mattock and Nick Montgomery could all return to the starting lineup.





Captain Paul McKenna could return from a knee injury for Forest. Dele Adebola could start in the Forest attack, after coming off the bench to net the equalizer in last week’s 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough.



Swansea City will continue their promotion challenge when they play host to mid-table Watford on Tuesday.





Second placed Swansea will be looking to bounce back from the weekend’s surprise 1-0 loss at Scunthorpe United. Watford will be looking to follow up on the weekend’s 1-0 win over Millwall, and close the eight point gap between themselves and the playoff spots.





Garry Monk and Adrea Orlandi are both ruled out with injury for Swansea, while Darren Pratley could return from illness.





Defender Lloyd Doyley is sidelined with a hamstring injury for Watford, while Danny Drinkwater is doubtful with a thigh injury. Captain John Eustace will return from suspension for the Hornet’s.



Queens Park Rangers will be looking to extend their eight point lead at the top of the Championship table when they travel face mid-table Millwall on Tuesday. QPR will be looking for their fourth straight win, while Millwall are winless in their last five games.





Millwall could hand a debut to Tottenham Hotspur loanee Andros Townsend, while QPR loanee Martin Rowlands is ineligible to play against his parent club.





Fitz Hall and Akos Buzsaky are injury doubts for QPR, while Tommy Smith looks likely to return from a hamstring problem.

Middlesbrough currently sit three points above the drop zone after a three game winless streak. Derby are three points further ahead and winless in their last 12 matches.





Goalkeepers Jason Steele and Danny Coyne are injured for Middlesbrough, which means inexperienced teenager Connor Ripley could start in goal. Ripley is the son of renowned former Boro winger Stuart Ripley.





Scott McDonald is doubtful for Boro due to a virus, while Julio Arca is out with toe and leg problems.





Thomas Cywka is ruled out with a knee problem for Derby, while Russell Anderson and James Bailey remain sidelined with injury. Defender Dean Leacock could return to the Rams defense after an injury layoff.



Relegation strugglers Crystal Palace will play host to promotion chasing Cardiff City at Selhurst Park on Tuesday. Palace sit only one place and one point above the relegation zone after a three game winless streak. Cardiff are one point behind second placed Swansea City and will be looking to rebound from the weekend’s 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town.





Alex Marrow will return from injury for Palace, while goalkeeper Julian Speroni is doubtful with a groin injury.





Striker Michael Chopra will shake off an ankle knock in time to play, while Paul Quinn and Seyi Olofinjana remain sidelined with injury.
