Jack Warner's hopes of having FIFA allow four spots to the CONCACAF region ahead of the 2014 World Cup have been blown away by FIFA.
Earlier in January, President Jack Warner had insisted that his Confederation was worth more than their current 3.5 automatic berth as he told reporters in an interview:

"We believe that CONCACAF deserves another full place at the World Cup finals. We have earned it.

"Our teams have proven themselves on the field of play. Our administrative capacity has grown on and off the field of play, and we have shown that CONCACAF is a powerhouse.

"After 50 years of existence, CONCACAF has proven that it is worthy of four spots in the World Cup.

"We, the members of the Executive Committee, will do all in our power to ensure that our region continues to flourish, advance and progress."

However, FIFA have apparently not been impressed enough by Jack Warner's arguments as the final decision reveals that nothing has changed. Africa keep their 5 representatives after the rule changed ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Oceania, Asia and the CONCACAF region have the same number of allocated spots: 0.5, 4.5 and 3.5 respectively. Meanwhile, Europe remain the continent with the most contenders. They will have 13 participating nations at the 2014 FIFA World Cup whereas Brazil will keep their 4.5 places excluding Brazil.
