The Portuguese superstar picked up an injury during the international break and could sit out the crucial trip to Amsterdam.

Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's attempts to calm down the fears, it looks like the Portuguese superstar could miss his team's trip to Ajax in the Champions League.

Massimiliano Allegri confirmed this as he spoke ahead of his team's weekend clash with Empoli. The Italian boss admitted that the five-time Ballon d'Or risks missing out on the first-leg tie of their quarter-final showdown with the Dutch giant.

This comes after the former Real Madrid superstar picked up an injury while on international duty. The 34-year-old suffered a slight muscle injury early on in the 1-1 draw with Serbia in a Euro 2020 qualifier which forced him to leave the pitch.

Speaking after that game, Ronaldo said that he would be fine after two weeks but the Bianconeri gaffer has revealed that might not be the case. Cristiano, who is no stranger to playing through the pain, will not be risked should he be anything short of complete fitness, the boss stated.

"On Monday he'll have some tests and we'll see what happens from there, but it is clear that he's at risk for the first game against Ajax," Allegri told reporters (as per Marca).

"He knows full well that if he isn't fit enough then he will be out of the game.

"I won't risk the whole season run-in for a single game."

The Portuguese goalscoring machine has been influential for the Old Lady in his debut season. He is their top scorer and it was his amazing hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 that shot them from the brink of elimination to the quarter-finals.

This means Cristiano will miss Juventus' league clashes with Empoli, Cagliari and AC Milan. However, Allegri has tipped Paulo Dybala to step up in the absence of Ronaldo.
