Second placed Swansea City will play host to sixth place Leeds United in the early Championship kickoff on Saturday.
Swansea will enter the game looking for their fourth straight win, while Leeds are unbeaten in their last seven league games.

Third placed Cardiff City and fourth placed Nottingham Forest will both be in action, when they go on the road to face Hull City and Millwall respectively.

Fifth placed Norwich city will play at Barnsley, while seventh placed Leicester City will look to break into the playoff spots with a win over Coventry City.

At the other end of the table, rock bottom Preston North End will be looking to end a 12 game winless streak when they play host to Lancashire rivals Burnley. Sheffield United will look to end a 12 game winless streak with victory over Derby, while Scunthorpe United could escape the bottom three with a win at Bristol City.

Swansea striker Stephen Dobbie may be handed a start after coming off the bench to net the winning goal in a 1-0 midweek win at Coventry City. Garry Monk and Andrea Orlandi are ruled out with injury for the Swans.





Midfielder Bradley Johnson will be suspended after he was sent off in the midweek 3-3 draw against Barnsley, defender Paul Connolly is ruled out with a hamstring injury.


League leading Queens Park Rangers will be looking to extend their nine game unbeaten run when they travel to face struggling Middlesbrough. QPR currently hold a five point lead at the top of the table, while Middlesbrough are five points above the relegation zone.





Barry Robson and Justin Hoyte are expected to recover from injury for Middlesbrough. Stephen McManus, Matthew Bates and Kevin Thomson are all sidelined with injury for Boro.





Hogan Ephraim will return from suspension for QPR, while striker Tommy Smith remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.


Nottingham Forest will continue their promotion push as they look to hand Millwall their third straight defeat at The Den on Saturday. Fourth placed Forest are two points behind second placed Swansea City, while Millwall are eight points behind the playoff spots.





Midfielder Jimmy Abdou is out injured for Millwall, new loan signing Martin Rowlands is his likely replacement. Republic of Ireland international Rowlands joined the Lions this week on loan from Queens Park Rangers.





Liverpool loanee Paul Konchesky is out injured for Forest, while Nathan Tyson and Robert Earnshaw are both injury doubts.


Lancashire rivals Preston North End and Burnley will clash at Deepdale on Saturday with the two clubs in contrasting form. Preston are rooted to the bottom of the table, are 10 points adrift of safety and are winless in their last 12 games. Burnley are seven points off the playoff spots after losing only one of their last seven league games.





Despite their long winless streak, Preston will have had their spirits boosted by drawing with first placed Queens Park Rangers, and fourth placed Nottingham Forest on their last two games. PNE could be further boosted by the return of strikers Iain Hume and Chris Brown for this game.





Martin Paterson and Chris McCann are sidelined with injury for the Clarets. Charlie Austin and Marvin Bartley after sitting out the midweek FA Cup defeat to West Ham United.


Relegation threatened Sheffield United will be looking to end a miserable run of form when they play host to Derby County on Saturday. The Blades are five points adrift of safety and have failed to win in their last 12 games, their season reached a new low in midweek when they threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at fellow relegation strugglers Scunthorpe United.





Derby have relegation worries of their own, the Rams are five points above the drop zone after an eight game winless streak.





Bjorn Helge Riise and Sam Vokes are injury doubts for United, while Shane Lowry is suspended. Chris Morgan, Darius Henderson, Richard Wright and Nick Montgomery all feature on a lengthy list of players ruled out injured for the Blades.





Gareth Roberts and James Bailey are doubtful for Derby, while Stephen Bywater and Saul Deeney are ruled out with injury. On-loan striker Jamie Ward is ineligible to play against his parent club.


Leicester City will be looking for their fifth straight home win when they play host to Coventry City at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday. Leicester are only three points off the playoff spots, while Coventry have fallen into mid-table after winning only one of their last 12 games.





Striker Darius Vassell is expected to return for Leicester, while Steve Howard remains sidelined with an ankle injury.





Coventry captain Lee Carsley and Ben Turner are doubtful for Coventry and will be assessed ahead of kickoff, while striker Clive Platt is expected to return.


Promotion chasing Cardiff City will travel to the KC Stadium to face Hull City with both teams in good form. Cardiff are only one point behind second placed Nottingham Forest and have lost only one of their last nine games. Hull are seven points off the playoff spots and have lost only one of their last 18 games.





Hull will be able to field defender Anthony Gerrard despite the fact he is on loan to the Tigers from Cardiff.





Cardiff midfielder Seyi Olofinjana, who is on loan from Hull is also eligible to play but is struggling with a knee injury. Craig Bellamy will return to the Cardiff attack, while Jason Koumas is questionable due to an illness.


Norwich City will continue their promotion challenge as they travel to face Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday. Norwich are three points behind second placed Swansea City and are unbeaten in their last three games, while mid-table Barnsley are winless in their last four contests.





Midfielders Nathan Doyle and Jacob Mellis are injury doubts for Barnsley and will be assessed ahead of kickoff. Hugo Colace and captain Stephen Foster are sidelined with injury for the Tyke’s.





Midfielder Andrew Surnam has returned to fitness for Norwich and is in contention for a starting place.


Scunthorpe United will be looking to continue their good form and climb out of the relegation zone when they play travel to face Bristol City on Saturday.





Scunthorpe currently occupy the relegation zone and are three points adrift of safety, but they have managed two wins and a draw in their last three games. Bristol are currently sitting in mid-table seven points above the relegation zone, and will be looking to follow up on their 3-1 midweek win at Watford.





Striker Nicky Maynard scored his first goal for Bristol since his preseason injury at Watford, and could retain his place in the Robin’s attack for this game.





Chris Dagnall, Joe Murphy and Rob Jones are all questionable for Scunthorpe and will be assessed ahead of kickoff. Niall Canavan, Michael O’Connor and Cliff Byrne also feature on a lengthy list of injury question marks for the Iron.


Crystal Palace will be looking to extend their nine home game unbeaten streak when they play host to Reading on Saturday. Palace are three points above the relegation zone, but have played two games more than Scunthorpe United who are directly below them. Reading are looking to close the seven point gap between themselves and the playoff zone.





Alex Marrow will return for Palace, while Nathaniel Clyne is expected to play despite a niggling knee injury.





Midfielder Jem Karacan is suspended for Reading, while Alex Pearce and goalkeeper Adam Federici are ruled out with injury.


Doncaster Rovers and Watford will go head to head at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday with both clubs looking to turn around some poor recent form. Doncaster have won only one of their last 10 outings, while Watford are winless in their last seven league games.





Doncaster have conceded 58 goals in the Championship this season and are the league’s second worst defense. Watford have scored 58 goals and are the second highest goal scorers in the Championship.





Billy Sharp, Simon Gillett and Shelton Martis are all injury doubts for Doncaster, while Doncaster have a lengthy list of players ruled out with injury.





James Coppinger, James Hayter, James O’Connor, James Chambers and Mustapha Dumbaya are all sidelined for Rovers.


Ipswich Town will be looking to extend their four home game unbeaten streak when they play host to in-form Portsmouth. Portsmouth are one point behind mid-table Ipswich and have won their last three games without conceding a goal.





Colin Healy will be unable to play for Ipswich due to a stomach injury, while captain David Norris is ruled out with ankle and knee problems.





Nwankwo Kanu is expected to return for Portsmouth, while Liam Lawrence is doubtful with a torn calf muscle.
