It’s a repeat of the UEFA Champions League final! Inter and Bayern Munich will battle it out in the Last 16 of this year’s tournament and key player Dejan Stankovic is looking forward to the tie.
The first leg is on Tuesday as Inter will host Bayern Munich at the San Siro. The Nerazzurri were not that impressive in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League this season as they struggled to stand competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ex-manager Rafael Benitez misguided Inter to a 3-0 defeat away to Werder Bremen on the last day of the group stages as the club missed the chance to qualify into the next stage as group winners. The Nerazzurri now have to face the Germans who should have Ribery available this time after he missed last year’s final through suspension.

The Inter vs Bayern Munich could see the visitors taking a sweet revenge on the Italians, but Deja Stankovic has no fear.

“The teams haven’t changed much compared to last year,” the Serbian told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I heard comments from [Bayern Munich coach] Louis van Gaal the other day about Arjen Robben and Ribery being back; and they are a strong point.

“But we are always the same and we are aiming to go through. It will be difficult, but we are on the right path. The Champions League is different to Serie A, and we have to take it in the right way.”

Third-placed Internazionale have a good chance of winning the Scudetto as they are only 5 points behind league leaders AC Milan. But on Tuesday, they will shift their attention on beating Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League as they seek to defend their European crown.
