Russia are currently enjoying life at the top of Group B in the qualifying round of Euro 2012. They seat 2 points above Republic of Ireland, Armenia and Slovakia who have won 7 points from a possible 12.

“For now, it’s important to have the players feel the game and to recall all playing combinations,” Coach Advocaat told the press in the build up to this evening’s friendly encounter in Abu Dhabi.
“That’s the reason why I’m not going to make any experiments with tactics or the line up.”
Russia’s Pavel Pogrebnyak also echoed Dick Advocaat’s comments concerning the momentum. Pogrebnyak was quoted by the team’s official website, saying that it is vital for Russia to boost their confidence ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Armenia.
