Middlesbrough and Scunthorpe United will meet at the Riverside Stadium in a crucial relegation battle on Tuesday.
Scunthorpe currently occupy the relegation zone, while Middlesbrough are three points above the drop zone. Boro will also be looking to extend a five game unbeaten streak in Championship play.

Last placed Preston North End will be looking to end a winless streak of seven away games when they travel to face Barnsley at Oakwell. Crystal Palace will travel to face playoff chasing Watford as they battle to escape the drop zone, while fellow strugglers Sheffield United will go on the road to face in-form Leicester City.

At the top end of the table, league leaders Queens Park Rangers play host to Portsmouth, while second placed Norwich City look to extend their seven league game unbeaten streak as they host Millwall.

Cardiff City and Swansea City could enter the top two with victory, and they will play against Reading and Bristol City respectively.

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are the two other teams who currently occupy the playoff spots. Forest will travel to face Coventry City, while Leeds will go on the road to play against Hull City.

High flying Norwich City will continue their promotion challenge when they play host to playoff chasing Millwall at Carrow Road. Norwich are currently in second place after a seven league game unbeaten streak, while Millwall are three points behind the playoff spots.





Norwich will be without defender Adam Drury and midfielder Andrew Surnam, who are both sidelined with injury.





Millwall’s new signing Hameur Bouazza is unable to make his debut due to a knee injury, while on-loan Jens Berthel Askou will not play against his parent club.



Sheffield United and Leicester City will clash at Brammall Lane with both teams in very different form. The Blades are winless in their last seven games in all competitions, and are outside of the relegation zone on goal difference only. Leicester are unbeaten in their last four league games, and are six points behind the playoff spots.





United could hand a debut to midfielder Michael Doyle who joined the club this week from Coventry City.





Yakubu Ayegbini has scored in all three games he has played so far for Leicester, and he could be joined in the attack here by fellow Nigerian striker Daniel Uchechi. The Foxes signed Uchechi this week on a season long loan from Nigerian club FC Dender.



Crystal Palace need points to escape the relegation zone when they travel to face playoff chasing Watford at Vicarage Road. Watford have won seven of their last eight league games, while Palace will be looking for only their second away win of the season.





Don Cowie is ruled out with a thigh strain, while Ross Jenkins is doubtful with a hamstring problem. Danny Drinkwater will make his Hornets debut after joining on loan from Manchester United.





Palace have no fresh injury concerns, so Julian Speroni will continue in goal after keeping clean sheets in Palace’s last three Championship games.



Playoff chasing Leeds United will travel to face Hull City on Tuesday night at the KC Stadium. Leeds currently sit in sixth place only three points behind Norwich City, while Hull are seven points further back.





Hull will be able to include Cameron Stewart in their lineup, after he signed permanently from Manchester United this week.





Leeds have no fresh injury concerns so leading goal scorer Luciano Becchio will continue to lead the attack.



Doncaster Rovers and Burnley will clash at the Keepmoat Stadium with both teams in need of a victory. Burnley are five points behind the playoff spot, while Rovers are a further six points back.





The two teams will enter this game in very different form, Burnley are riding a five game unbeaten streak while Doncaster have lost their last four games and conceded 13 goals in the process.





Doncaster captain Brian Stock could return from injury, while Mark Wilson and James Chambers will receive fitness tests ahead of kickoff. Sunderland loanee defender Matt Kilgallon is ruled out with a hamstring injury.





Chris McCann is an injury boubt for Burnley, while striker Charlie Austin could make his debut after joining from Swindon Town this week.



Swansea City will be looking to continue their promotion challenge when they travel to face Bristol City on Tuesday night. The Swans are only one point behind second placed Norwich City, while Bristol are five points above the drop zone and currently enduring a miserable run of form. The Robins are winless in their last five games, and have failed to score in four of them.





Bristol will be without winger Danny Rose, the Tottenham Hotspur loanee is sidelined with back and hamstring problems.





Dorus De Vries looks likely to return in goal for Swansea, after sitting out the FA Cup defeat to Leyton Orient over the weekend. Finnish striker Shefki Kuqi will not feature for Swansea, after having his contract terminated by the club.



Third place Cardiff City will be looking to continue their promotion push when they play host to playoff chasing Reading. Cardiff are only one point behind the automatic promotion spots and are unbeaten in their last three league games. Reading are unbeaten in their last five games, and will be looking to close the four point gap between themselves and the playoff zone.





Cardiff will be without Danny Drinkwater, after the midfielder’s loan spell from Manchester United ended. Arsenal duo Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Aaron Ramsey have been signed on loan and could feature against the Royals.





Reading manager Brian McDermott has no fresh injury concerns, and could include new signing Mathieu Manset in the attack. The French striker joined this week from Hereford United, and could join leading scorer Shane Long in the Royals attack.



Nottingham Forest will be looking to maintain their promotion push when they travel to face Coventry City. Forest are two points behind second placed Norwich City and will be looking for their fifth consecutive Championship win. Coventry have fallen nine points behind the playoff spots, after failing to win in their last eight league games.





Coventry have no fresh injury concerns, but will be unable to field midfielder Michael Doyle, who has left the club to join Sheffield United.





The Forest defense will be boosted by the inclusion of Liverpool left-back Paul Konchesky, who has signed on a 93 day emergency loan deal.



Rock bottom Preston North End will travel to face Barnsley looking to end a run of seven away games without a victory. Barnsley will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at Millwall last time out.





Matt Hill will feature in the Barnsley defense, after signing a contract to keep him at the club until the end of season. Hill was offered the deal after a successful loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers.





The Preston midfield will be boosted by the inclusion of veteran Ian Ashbee, who joined the club this week from Hull City. Blackburn loanee Amine Linganzi will be missing through injury, he is expected to return in around a month.



Ipswich Town will travel to face Derby County at Pride Park with the home side currently enduring a miserable run. Derby have lost eight of their last 10 games, and have failed to find the net in their last three league games. Ipswich will be looking to build on the 3-2 win they registered over Doncaster Rovers n their last league game.





Derby will be without star midfielder and leading goal scorer Kris Commons, who has left the club to join Glasgow Celtic. Defender Dean Leacock will also be out for the Rams due to suspension.





Ipswich manager Paul Jewell could hand a debut to new signings Jimmy Bullard and Andy Drury. The pair joined the Tractor Boys this week from Hull City and Luton Town respectively.



League leading Queens Park Rangers will face Portsmouth at Loftus Road with both teams in very different forms. QPR hold a five point lead at the top of the table and unbeaten in their last four league games. Portsmouth are winless in their last seven league games, and are only four points above the drop zone.





Striker Rob Hulse looks likely to return to the QPR attack, while Alejandro Faurlin and Tommy Smith are doubtful and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.





Defender Aaron Mokoena and Dave Kitson will return from suspension for Pompey, but John Utaka is out after leaving the club against Montpellier.
