Eduardo Santos, the author of the infamous attempt to recreate CR7's image, spoke about his ordeal after the world slammed his work.

One of the stories that became viral last year was the unveiling of Cristiano Ronaldo's bust. The work of art was, to be fair, a hilarious representation of CR7's looks, and gained worldwide fame for its little resemblance to the Portuguese ace.

One year later, the man behind that bust stepped up to redeem himself. Eduardo Santos, who was an amateur sculptor at the time he made the first bust, talked about his family's ordeal after the statue was unveiled, stating that neither him nor his family felt like leaving their house due to the harsh criticism he had been subject to.

"I had no idea, it was all very sudden. People started making phone calls to my home to criticize me and my family, those were really tough times. People didn't understand that art is a form of expression, it's not an exact science," Santos stated in tears.

During the interview with B/R Football, some fans were handed the chance to watch the bust up-close. While some found it to be good, most of those who came across the statue suggested that the sculptor had another go at it.

Eduardo Santos was there to hear their words and took a shot at redemption. Here's the final result.
