In the Coppa Italia, AC Milan faces a tough test in their quarter-final tie. The Italian giant will face city rival Inter Milan in the last but has been rocked by news that one key player will miss this tie.
That man is none other than Gianluigi Donnarumma, the highly-rated goalkeeper who has endured harsh abuse from the fans. The Italian custodian, aged 18, was in line to make his 100th appearance for the Rossoneri but will sadly have to wait.
AC Milan, 11th in Serie A, announced Donnarumma’s absence via Twitter ahead the Milan Derby. The reason: the teenager is suffering from a groin injury.
With the 18-year-old on the sidelines for this crunch tie, Gattuso has called 16-year-old Matteo Soncin to his squad. Sonchin will join Antonio Donnarumma, Gianluigi's brother, and Marco Storari as the three goalkeepers for this quarter-final game.

This is just another setback in what has been a troubling season for the young goalkeeper. The shot-stopper was recently brought to tears by members of AC Milan’s fans in the club’s 3-0 Coppa Italia victory over Verona earlier this month.
Supporters held a huge banner which read: "Psychological violence by giving you 6million Euros (£5.3million) a season and signing your parasite brother? It's time to leave . . . our patience with you is over."
This left Donnarumma in tears and now has the goalkeeper wanting an exit. His agent, Mino Raiola, is looking to have the deal he signed in July "annulled" which could pave the way for a free summer exit.
Despite AC Milan’s struggles this season, Donnarumma is a highly-rated custodian who won’t be short of suitors should he decide to leave. Real Madrid and PSG are two clubs linked with the promising Italian.
