The never-ending debate between Cristiano Ronaldo fans and Lionel Messi's supporters had a new chapter added to the rivalry today, as the Portuguese star claimed a second straight FIFA The Best award in a row.
CR7 claimed the trophy for a second year running after winning the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Spanish Super Cup with Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Messi's mammoth tally of goals scored and one more Copa del Rey title had his fandom demanding their idol to take the award home.
Curiously enough, footballers and experts agreed with FIFA's decision to give Cristiano Ronaldo the award.
Congratulations @Cristiano

Have a look at what fans had to say about this award. Notice any difference?
Messi levels above Ronaldo. Ballon D'or doesn't decide who's better, my eyes do.

Tragic how future gens will compare Messi and CR's individual awards and think it was a close debate. If only they could see what we saw.

If you watch 90 minutes of Messi play and 90 of Ronaldo and come to the conclusion Ronaldo is a better player, Football is not your sport

Future generations will actually think it was close between Messi and Ronaldo when the reality is that Messi is leagues ahead
