The South American stars argued over a free-kick and penalty before locking horns after the final whistle.

The attacking trio of Cavani, Neymar, and Mbappe that was expected to terrorize Europe could be broken up early after a row between the two South American members. The two butt heads during the 2-0 win over Lyon, with their clash carrying after the final whistle.

The two fell out after Cavani refused to allow the Brazilian to take a penalty only to see his effort saved. The two also argued over set-pieces, with Dani Alves getting involved to help the former Barca superstar take a free-kick.

According to L’Equipe, the two clashes even further in the dressing room. The French outlet claim that other PSG players had to step in to keep Cavani and Neymar apart after things escalated between the attackers.

Now, Sport claim the world’s most expensive player has issued a demand to Les Parisiens: sell the Uruguayan striker. The Catalan tabloid report that Neymar wants Edinson out by January or, the latest, next summer.

Cavani’s participation cannot play in the Champions League for another club this season, making a January move difficult, but Neymar has already informed Nasser Al-Khelaifi that the two cannot play side by side. The former Santos ace wants to be the best in the world and cannot afford to fight over set pieces with his 30-year-old team-mate.

There is also the possibility that Sport are way off with this report, as they have been several times before. Cavani insisted after the game that there is no dispute with Neymar and arguments over free-kicks and penalties are normal. Maybe there time together is not doomed.
