Barcelona B product, winger Manuel Nolito, has failed to impose himself within Barca’s senior team. The youngster is now in transfer rumours as reports claim that he could leave for Benfica.
Having made only three appearances for the Catalans’ first team – two of which occurred in the Copa del Rey – Manuel Nolito certainly needs to look to another club to fulfil his dream of playing senior football. Without Bojan Krkic and striker Pedro Rodriguez, the future of Nolito might have been different with Barcelona. The fact, however, is that the duo’s positive record under Pep Guardiola has somewhat left the winger behind.

The alert is ringing in the ears of Nolito who is yet to experience regular first-team football at the age of 24. Thankfully for the player, Benfica are rumoured to be interested in his services and a transfer deal could soon be made for Manuel Nolito to land at the Estadio da Luz and face the challenge of Portuguese football.

According to transfer rumours, Benfica are favourites to sign the 24-year-old winger who is also said to be on the radar of a few other clubs. They are Panathinaikos from Greece, Spartak Moscow from Russia, Fiorentina from Italy and Monaco from France.

It will be interesting to see the evolution of Manuel Nolito at the top level in football. Should he leave the Camp Nou, Barcelona fans will hope that such a transfer doesn’t turn out to be a burden on the Catalans like it seems to have been the case for Barcelona product Cesc Fabregas.
