Ramos sets shameful La Liga record

Sergio Ramos sets embarrassing La Liga record in 3-0 win vs Depor

August 20, 2017 By Oscar Rojas
Everything seemed to be going on smoothly for Real Madrid, unitl the Spaniard decided to add some spice to their victorious start.

Real Madrid's captain Sergio Ramos is one of the toughest defenders in the world, and sometimes his intensity gets him in more trouble than his coach would like. Today, Ramos confirmed both statements by helping Los Blancos beat Deportivo 3-0, but he threw it all away by earning a red card in stoppage time.

Ramos was accused of throwing an elbow while looking to clear an aerial ball away from Real Madrid's final third. Since he had been booked previously, the ref didn't hesitate to show him a second yellow, forcing him to watch Los Blancos' next game from the stands alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Los Blancos' Spaniard captain now shares the dubious honor of being the player with the most red cards in La Liga history.

If you were wondering how many times Ramos has been sent off in his professional career, here's that number for you.

The Spanish defender's disciplinary numbers have to be cause for concern for Zidane & Co.
