The game between Barcelona and Atletico Chapecoense was meant to be a celebration of life, following the ill-fated crash that saw 71 human beings losing their lives while flying to play in the Copa Sudamericana final.
With that in mind, Barcelona supporters gave their Brazilian visitors a warm welcome, and that included giving Alan Ruschel, Neto and Jakson Follman a standing ovation as the speaker system at Camp Nou announced their names.
These players were the only survivors of the November 28 crash. Alan Ruschel was awarded the captain's armband, in what became his first game for Chape after the accident.
