Team news

Fans eagerly await Real Madrid vs. Man United and Jose Mourinho’s clash with his former club. The Red Devils’ chances of winning decreased, however, when Los Blancos announced their squad for the trip to FYR Macedonia.

In the 24-man squad was Cristiano Ronaldo, a man initially expected to miss the UEFA Super Cup. After participating in the FIFA Confederations Cup and appearing before a court for his tax fraud case, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner was written off for this game. Even now that his inclusion has been announced, the 32-year-old is still tipped to start on the bench after missing the pre-season.

Zidane has taken along new signings Theo Hernandez and Dani Cabellos. Modric, Bale, Isco, Asensio, Ramos, and Navas were other familiar names in the squad.

Mourinho has a few worries. Although his three big summer signings – Lukaku, Vindelof, and Matic – are all available to play, a few players will miss Tuesday’s clash.

Eric Bailly is the first absentee, as he continues his three-match ban for his red card against Anderlecht in the Europa League. Phil Jones is also banned – for using abusive language to a doping control officer.

Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, and Marcos Rojo remain on the sidelines with injuries. Luckily for the Red Devils, Ander Herrara and Juan Mata are expected to return – as well as Serigo Romero and Jesse Lingard.
