The Portuguese ace is being charged with tax fraud from 2011 to 2014 for failing to declare income taxes from his image rights.

Cristiano Ronaldo tried to avoid a hearing before the Spanish IRS, but a date has finally been set for the Portuguese ace to fight off claims of tax evasion.

According to an investigation held by the Spanish tax authorities, CR7 failed to declare up to 14 million euros coming from image rights from 2011 to 2014, and even if the player tried to pay all fines regarding this issue, the court found arguments to have him appear in front of the judge hearing this case.

The hearing, which will be held behind closed doors, will be taking place on Monday morning, at 11:30 CEST.

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected back with Real Madrid next week, as the club begins preparing their defense of their first La Liga title since 2012. Whie the player sorts out his problems with the Spanish judicial system, the team will carry on with their pre-season games taking place in the United States.
