On Monday, Aston Villa confirmed the rumors: John Terry signed a contract with the Championship club. The English defender has left London for Birmingham after his contract with the Blues expired.
If the signing failed to raise eyebrows, the way in which the Villans announced the deal earned praise on social media. The club posted a video on their official Facebook account of a hilarious fake Whatsapp conversation to confirm the transfer.
In the Whatsapp conversation, Steve Bruce drills chairman Tony Xia about the deal. The Chelsea legend is then welcomed by the Aston Villa players before an Agbonlahor comments causes a few players to leave the group. Watch it in the video below.
