The Champions League winners are looking for reinforcement, and might have found one in the Premier League.

Real Madrid are expected to be busy in the transfer market. Florentino Perez promised a new Galactico over the summer – possibly Mbappe – whilst a Cristiano Ronaldo and Morata exit will mean replacements have to be signed.

One position that Los Blancos have been linked with is a new goalkeeper. David De Gea remains on the Champions League holders’ radar, but the rumors have died down in recent weeks.

Fast forward to today, and Zidane’s side are being linked with another shot-stopper. Also plying his trade in the Premier League, the Spanish giants have reportedly been in contact with Thibaut Courtois.

The Chelsea keeper has enjoyed success in England since his arrival from Atletico. He has won the Premier League twice, his most recent success coming last season, and has also gotten his hands on the League Cup.

However, contract negotiations with the Blues have broken down. The Belgian goalkeeper’s current deal ends in 2019, and he wants to double his £100,000-per-week salary.

Christophe Henrotay, Courtois’ agent, confirmed talking to Real Madrid about a transfer. The player’s agent revealed this information to Sport / Foot Magazine, with Sport Witness translating his comments.

Henrotay said: “Of course Thibaut is of interest to the big clubs, including the latest Champions League winner. He is someone who helps you win games, titles. I regularly meet the directors of Real Madrid and of course Thibaut’s case has come up. My role is to keep him updated on the situation”
