The Premier League could miss out on the Spanish striker who now looks ready to bid farewell to the Bernabeu.

Alvaro Morata was highly-sought after in the Premier League before resigning for Real Madrid. The Spanish striker left Los Blancos in search of more playing time only to return to the same problem.

The 24-year-old has netted 20 times for the Champions League holders this season despite being one of their B-side players, but still struggles to start games. As a result, a summer exit appears inevitable.

During Real Madrid’s title celebration, the former Juventus forward was seen teary-eyed at the Cibeles – a hint that this could be a goodbye. A move to the Premier League was the likeliest possibility – given the interest from Chelsea and Arsenal – but Marca claim he could be headed back to Italy.

According to the Spanish publication, AC Milan are now in pole position the sign the Spaniard. New owner Li Yonghong has identified Morata as the man to lead the Rossoneri’s return to glory.

The striker’s knowledge of Serie A would benefit Milan, but it remains unsure whether Alvaro is open to a return to Italy. Marca write that he is “weighing the option” of a San Siro move.

Real Madrid, linked with a world-record move for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, won’t let Morata go for cheap. The Spanish champions reportedly want €60m for the Spaniard.
