The controversial host nation for the 2022 World Cup is trying to show their commitment to the project, having most stadiums ready years before they're used in the competition.

Qatar's election to host the 2022 World Cup came with lots of controversy surrounding it, but at least, this nation seems determined to show the world they're fully prepared for such a task, and unveiling a revamped stadium was a good way of proving that.

Using the Twitter account "Road to 2022", the World Cup Committee for the 2022 edition unveiled the remodelled Khalifa International Stadium. This venue has been equipped with a new roof, a state-of-the-art cooling system, and an increased capacity of 68,000 seats.

Sheik Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), revealed in an interview that Qatar intends to have each and every venue ready long before the tournament takes place.

"Opening the Khalifa International Stadium five years before the start of the World Cup represents a strong indication of the strong will and determination of the concerned authorities in Qatar," Al Khalifa stated.

Without further ado, have a look at how this stadium looks both from the outside and the inside.

A construction worker tests the cooling system, which will make this stadium the coolest open-air venue in the world.
