Messi scored Barcelona's second and fourth goals against Villarreal, extending his lead as La Liga's top scorer.

La Liga's record books have been almost entirely re-written by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and the latter reached yet another record in the Spanish top flight with his performance against Villarreal.

"La Pulga" scored his 34th & 35th goals this season in La Liga games, making him the first player in the history of the Spanish top flight to score 100 braces.

"Messi is the 1st player in La Liga history to reach 100 braces."

If that wasn't enough, "La Pulga" scored his 150th goal since forming the deadly MSN attack.

Messi now has an eight-goal lead in the Pichichi race, keeping his hopes of winning the 2017 Golden Boot alive.
