Monaco's high-flying attack vs. Juventus's mean defense

Monaco

Monaco arguably have played some of the most entertaining football in the Champions League this season. Les Rouges-et-Blancs come into this game having won their last 13 home matches and have scored three goals in three of their last four home matches in the Champions League. In addition, they currently sit on top of Ligue 1 and with PSG losing to Nice, are looking very good to end Les Parisiens' reign as the champions of France.

Viewed as an underdog, Monaco have shown that they can mix it up with the bigger sides of Europe as they overpowered both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in a series of high-scoring, entertaining clashes. With plenty of young, hungry, starlets in their ranks, they surely will not be intimidated by welcoming Juventus to their home ground as they hope to take one step closer towards featuring in the final.

In terms of personnel, Jardim will be very happy to welcome Benjamin Mendy back into the fold after recovering from injury. However, both Djibril Sidibe and Almamy Touré are still on the treatment table, whilst Fabinho makes his return after serving a ban for Monaco's last UCL match.

Juventus

Meanwhile, Juventus come into this game having had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Atalanta. Although the Bianconeri are very strong at home, they have not been as impressive overall in their travels, where they have won just two out of their last seven on the road. That being said, with Roma losing to Lazio, they are pretty much guaranteed to win the Scudetto, and are in the finals of the Coppa Italia. However, Juve want more than just Italian titles - they want to be crowned champions of Europe.

La Vecchia Signora's success has been based on their strong defensive form, which has seen them concede a measly two goals during the course of this tournament. They put on a masterful defensive performance to shut down Barcelona at the Camp Nou after beating the Blaugrana 3-0 in Turin, but now will have to make do without key midfielder Sami Khedira due to suspension. Allegri, then, will be expected to bring in Claudio Marchisio to replace the German international. The Italian tactician will also likely use his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation that has deployed Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic, and Juan Cuadrado in Serie A and this tournament with much success.
