The Brazilian defender will go head-to-head with his former employers when they meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Dani Alves will face Barca as an opponent for the first time since leaving the club over the summer. The Brazilian will meet his former employers when Juventus host the Blaugrana in the Champions League clash.

Ahead of the quarter-final affair, the right-back opened up about his departure from Camp Nou. The defender discussed his summer exit with FIFA.com, revealing that he called an end to his unforgettable time with the Catalan giants because he no longer felt comfortable there.

Alves, who left Barcelona as a free agent, said he felt singled out during the final year of his contract. It was at this point when he decided on trying a new league.

"I have to say that I didn’t feel as comfortable any more at Barça.

"Things changed at a club level, and as time went on, I always seemed to be the one in the firing line. 'Dani’s the one who has to go,' they’d say. I just got tired of it. I decided to head off in a new direction and find happiness somewhere else."

Alves has done well so far in the Serie A. The Brazilian is well on his way to the Scudetto, with Allegri’s boys in the lead, but will take a lot to match the success he achieved at Barca.

The defender made over 400 appearances for the club en route to winning 23 titles. However, trophies aren’t the only difference between the two clubs. According to the player, his current team-mates are too serious for his taste.

"In Italy, team-mates can be a bit serious and not very expressive. I’m the complete opposite! I’m happy, fun to be around, and I like to get an atmosphere going. I feel a bit restricted in that respect and it makes me think there’s something lacking. But like I said, it’s a challenge, and I think I have a lot to offer Juve.
