Match facts

  • If Barcelona pull off a comeback against PSG, it will go down in history.
  • The Blaugrana’s 4-0 loss in the first-leg was their worst Champions League defeat – level with their loss to Bayern in 12/13.
  • The Catalan giants haven’t crashed out at this stage of the completion since 06/07 – a record in the competition.
  • PSG have made it past the last 16 in the last four seasons, but crashed out in the quarter-final.
  • Messi and Co. are yet to lose at home in the Champions League under Luis Enrique, winning their last 14.
  • Les Parisiens are winless in four trips to Camp Nou (D2, L2).

Can Barca pull off a historic comeback?

Barcelona need to make history in order to continue their Champions League hopes, but the 4-0 score line could prove extremely difficult to overturn. The Blaugrana utterly collapsed in Paris, and now need to win by a five-goal margin to progress, or risk crashing out in the last 16 for the first time in a decade.

The Catalan giants can be confident, given their excellent home record. Furthermore, they will have an almost full-fit squad for Wednesday’s game.

Aleix Vidal and Jeremy Mathieu are both sidelined, but everyone else in the Barcelona squad is available for selection. Messi, Neymar, and Suarez will lead the line of attack, but need redemption after their abysmal display in the first-leg.

PSG have a worry or two in their squad. Unai Emery might be without Thiago Motta and Angel Di Maria – both injury doubts. However, Adrien Rabio is back and could feature in the starting lineup.
