The man who decided that the game between Los Blancos and Celta couldn't be played for security reasons had strong words about the team's attempts to play the match.

Real Madrid faced some tough opposition this weekend, as Vigo's Mayor decided to call off the game against Celta for security reasons.

What Los Blancos didn't expect were his words. According to Abel Caballero, the team's attempts to have the game played were not called for, were disrespectful, and quite frankly, not what he expected from a top-caliber club like Real Madrid.

"I expected cooperation from a great club such as Real Madrid, rather than the pressure I was subject to this past weekend. There was a high risk involved if we decided to allow the game to go on," Caballero stated.

The Mayor, who declared himself "a fan of the game", added that actions such as asking fans to make the trip could have added fuel to an already complicated situation.

When something like this happens, you expect clubs to understand. Football, which is a game I enjoy very much, is about cooperation, and I expected that from Real Madrid, not the exact opposite," he added.

Two portions of the roof at Balaidos Stadium were damaged by extreme weather conditions. Real Madrid suggested to close the stands to have the game played, but local authorities denied their request.

Before the press conference concluded, Abel Caballero recalled that the match between Deportivo and Betis was also postponed, and both parties agreed that it was the best option.

The game at Riazor Stadium was also postponed, and nothing happened. But since Real Madrid was involved, we ended with this situation in our hands. It was just a football game, nothing more. I don't care if there's a team out there that thinks they're above the law, not even Real Madrid,"Caballero concluded.

The game's new date will be determined once the fate of both clubs is decided in their other competitions. However, the best option seems to schedule the game between weeks 37 and 38 of La Liga.
